before and after the package; all Parks fees, single supplements;
any levies, taxes, surcharges and visa fees; bank charges, gratuities
and purchases of a personal nature; any optional extras (Hwange,
Chobe, rafting etc.)
Best time of the year
- The Falls themselves are most spectacular when in full flood
in April - the spray is intense so they're best viewed from the
air. Photographic opportunities from the Rain Forest improve as
the annual flood abates from May onwards.
- Photographic opportunities are excellent especially at dawn
and dusk.
- Birding is exceptional until the migrants head north in April,
after that it reverts to excellent!!
Tips and notes
- There is sufficient time to include a full day trip to Chobe
National Park in Botswana or a similar trip to Hwange as an optional
extra - this should be arranged in advance.
- All adventure activities (rafting, bungee jumps etc.) are optional
extras - they can be arranged at time of booking or on first evening
of arrival at the Lodge.
- Victoria Falls and Livingstone towns have interesting shops
and markets - do not be persuaded to change cash on the streets
and beware of pick pockets. Take the same sensible precautions
that you would in any African tourist center.
- Days at Tongabezi have no set pattern and can be spent exactly
as you wish. Choose simply to relax at the lodge, enjoy a pampering
Swedish massage whilst taking in the sights and sounds of the
Zambezi, or make the most of the wealth of activities, both inclusive
and exclusive
Best Access
Victoria Falls is a primary hub into Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and
Namibia - easily connected from regional and international airports.
