Beautiful scenery
Walking + horse riding allowed
The Nyika Plateau lies about 2000m above sea level and is a lovely
region of rolling hills, forests and woodland - not to mention the
stunning wildflowers that can be seen after the rains (the rainy season
is from November to April). Seeing up to 120 species of orchid flowering
up close and personal is a magical experience.
Despite the antelope, zebras and monkeys which live in the park, it
is possible to walk and horse ride in Nyika - a highlight for many
tourists. It is also a prime birdwatching destination, with hundreds
of bird species residing in the park.
